LEADERSHIP MINISTRY
Ministry at Swansea Church of God involves teaching, service, outreach, and modeling the Christian life. It depends not only on our staff, but also on volunteer workers who are deeply rooted in a scriptural foundation, living out their faith and communicating that faith in an effective application. The leadership of SCOG is tightly interwoven with the overall purpose of the church, which is to provide a context for persons from every walk of life to come to a saving knowledge of Christ, a growing personal walk in the Holy Spirit, involvement through fellowship, and a life of witnessing ministry as a disciple of Jesus Christ.
PREACHING AND TEACHING MINISTRY
Swansea Church of God is committed to disciplining believers through bible-based preaching and teaching the message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ so that they may know the truth of God's word and be strengthened and encouraged. Our vision is that the church body fulfill the goal of growing into all the fullness of Christ, so that we have an effective outreach in our community as well as the world and ultimately bringing greater glory to God who loves us and sent His son for us.
CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
There is a very active program for children of elementary school age in our children's church ministry. Our children are the next generation, the future of the church! God Squad Kids meet after worship on Sunday, 11:30am-12:30pm. This ministry provides the opportunity for discipleship development through exciting classes and activities.
YOUTH & CHRISTIAN EDUCATION MINISTRY
A comprehensive ministry is provided for and communicated to the youth of SCOG through effective teaching, counseling, and exciting activities. Wednesday night youth group begins at 7pm. Our purpose is to raise up and encourage young people to be deeply rooted in a scriptural foundation, while communicating their faith in an effective manner.
MUSIC MINISTRY
Music has always been and will continue to be a vital part of SCOG. Music should communicate and express a sense of awe and wonder in the presence of God; it should lead our thoughts toward God rather than toward ourselves. Our worship team brings to the department excellent skills that are producing an exciting ministry leading our church into the presence of the Lord in worship.
WOMEN'S MINISTRY
Ladies' ministry is probably the oldest auxiliary ministry in the church. The Ladies ministry team strives to equip and mobilize the ladies of the church for service in the kingdom of God; to maintain a spirit of cooperation with other ministries; and to instill Christian values to the present and future generations through teaching and by example. This ministry provides spiritual support as well as opportunities for service for the ladies and young women of the church.
COMMUNITY OUREACH MINISTRY
Men and Women of Action (MWOA) is a group of volunteers who have a heart to serve. Being a part of this team is a great way to get people connected to each other, their church, and their community. Whether its building projects, helping those in need when disaster strikes, home repairs or keeping our roadways clean through Adopt a Highway- the main purpose of this ministry is to be the hands and feet of Jesus by using God-given gifts and skills to serve those in our church, community, state, nation and world.
